$5 Fan Appreciation Night Saturday at DCRP!

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 2, 2012) – Race fans in and around southwest Kansas will get plenty of bang for their buck as championship chase action continues Saturday night at Dodge City Raceway Park.

All fans will be admitted to the grandstands for just $5 as championship point battles continue on in the IMCA Modifieds, United Wireless IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Poor Boy Kustomz Thunder Cars and Hornets. Racing gets under way at 7:30 p.m.

Cole Traugott, Bart Baker, Perry Misner, Dan Rogers and Brandon Sprott lead their respective classes into Saturday night’s card.

Though shut out of victory lane thus car, Traugott carries a two-point lead over defending IMCA Modified track champion Brendon Gemmill into the night. Baker holds the top spot in United Wireless IMCA Sport Mod points, Misner maintains a slim three-point edge over Cody Zimmerman after an early crash in the recent IMCA Stock Car outing, Rogers holds a 19-point edge in Poor Boy Kustomz Thunder Car points and Sprott is two-for-two in the wild Hornet action on the asphalt track inside the 3/8-mile clay oval.

Tickets to Saturday night’s racing action are just $5, with children 11 and under admitted free if accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are $30.

Dodge City Raceway Park will present 16 nights of racing over a dozen different weekends in 2012. In addition to the five regularly featured classes of competition, special events over the course of the year will include World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, USAC Midgets, USAC Sprint Cars, ASCS National Tour, NCRA Sprint Cars, URSS 305 Sprints and BST Modifieds.
