DCRP Championship Battles Heating Up!

29 May 2013 | Featured News | |

Herring & Allen 051113 980Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 29, 2013) – With the initial three rounds of championship chase action at Dodge City Raceway Park in the books, the title battles are already reaching torrid status.

Round four of chase action at DCRP is this Saturday at 7:30 with IMCA Modifieds, United Wireless IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and Thunder Cars on the 3/8-mile clay oval with the wild and wacky Hornets on the inner asphalt oval.

Both the IMCA Modifieds and Thunder Cars divisions have ties for the points lead and only three points separate the top two IMCA Sport Modified contenders with only the IMCA Stock Car and Hornet point leaders having any semblance of breathing room, and that could change in short order on Saturday night.

Thus far, there have been 11 different winners in 11 championship chase feature events atop the nation’s premier 3/8-mile clay oval.

IMCA Modifieds:

With three different winners through the opening three nights of competition, 2008 track champion Randy Wilson and Austin Allen are knotted atop the point charts with Jesse Smith and Jon Herring, Jr., both within ten points of the top spot.  Only 38 points separate the top ten in points.
