DCRP Practice this Sunday!

Thunders 060212bLonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (March 20, 2013) – With opening day drawing closer with each passing day, Dodge City Raceway Park will host an open practice session this Sunday afternoon.

Sunday afternoon’s practice session atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval as well as the inner asphalt oval for Hornets is set for 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The practice session is open to all divisions with pit passes just $10 and admission to the grandstands free.

Sunday’s practice precedes the Saturday, March 30, season opening event that goes green at the special start time of 4:00 p.m.  The DCRP season opening night will include the track’s championship classes of IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Thunder Cars and Hornets.

After the season opening event, the track will undergo a “Baja” transformation in preparation for the season opening TORC Off Road Truck event on April 12-13.  Tickets for the TORC event are available at http://torc.eventbrite.com/#.

A total of 18 nights of competition over the course of 14 weekends at Dodge City Raceway Park are on the schedule for 2013, with other special events including World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, USAC Southwest Sprint Cars, $1,200-to-win Modified Nationals and URSS Sprint Cars.
