Down the Stretch at DCRP…

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (September 13, 2012) – Only two more opportunities remain to catch some racing action at Dodge City Raceway Park, including this Saturday night’s event atop the 3/8-mile clay oval.

Saturday’s action, which gets under way at 7:30 p.m., includes the track’s regular championship chase classes of IMCA Modifieds, United Wireless IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Poor Boy Kustomz Thunder Cars and Hornets.

The lone remaining event after Saturday’s card is Championship Night two weeks later on Saturday, September 29.  That event will include all five regular track divisions along with the URSS 305-ci Sprint Cars.

A look at the track’s title chases leading into the weekend…

 

IMCA Modifieds:

Woodward, Oklahoma’s Cole Traugott holds a slim four-point lead over Ponca City, Oklahoma’s Brendon Gemmill, who has topped four features in defense of his 2011 track title.

Tickets to Saturday’s action are just $12 for adults.  Seniors and Military receive a $5 discount, with children 11 and under admitted free if accompanied by an adult.  Pit passes are $30.

Dodge City Raceway Park will present 14 nights of racing over eleven different weekends in 2012.  In addition to the five regularly featured classes of competition, special events over the course of the year will include World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, USAC Midgets, ASCS National Tour, NCRA Sprint Cars, URSS 305 Sprints and BST Modifieds.
