First URSS Race

The first URSS Sanctioned Races will be Saturday Night, May 30, with the famed Boot Hill 1000. Many know of this race from the history from back in 1982 when we started it at the old Dodge City Speedway.

Larry Dewell was the first winner of that race which paid $1000 to win.

This year’s race also pays $1000 to win which is far above the usual URSS races which pay $400 to $500 to win. That will bring in the cars, and race fans know for that kind of money the racing is going to be a step up from the usual.

Last year’s DCRP DC Harley Sprint Car Champ and URSS National Champion “Bad Boy” Brian Herbert is ready. “We have two cars and my dad has been building some good motors and my brother and crew have these cars the best ever. We are going to concentrate on Dodge City and Liberal and that $1,000 will look good in my racing budget”, said Herbert.
