It’s TORC Time in Dodge City!

(April 11, 2013) – The time for the much-anticipated TORC Off Road Truck event at Dodge City Raceway Park has rolled around, as racing action gets under way Friday at 7:00 p.m. before culminating with finale of the two-day spectacular on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

More than 30 TORC Off Road teams rolled into Dodge City and took to the Baja style track on Thursday for a practice session after a 1:00 p.m. press conference that included Mayor Rick Sowers cutting the ribbons on the newly-constructed RC track on the grounds.

TORC 10Practice went off without incident, with drivers and series officials pleased with the construction and layout of the track.

A number of TORC trucks paraded downtown to Boot Hill for an autograph session at 5:00 p.m. followed up by a VIP dinner at 7:00 p.m.

And with all the preliminary festivities in the books, it’s down to serious business when the green flag flies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gates for the event open at 3:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

Tickets for the TORC event on April 12-13 are just $20 each per day and can be ordered in advance at http://torc.eventbrite.com/# or purchased at the gate.

With 18 nights of competition at Dodge City Raceway Park in 2013 scheduled over the course of 14 weekends, special events will include TORC Off Road Trucks, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, USAC Southwest Sprint Cars, $1,200-to-win Modified Nationals and URSS Sprint Cars.
