Practice Date Set for March 24

Stocks 060212Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (March 4, 2013) – As another exciting season of racing action rapidly approaches at one of the premier venues in the nation, the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval, a practice date has been set for Sunday, March 24.

The open practice slated for March 24 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., weather permitting, precedes the track’s scheduled season opener the following weekend.

Dodge City Raceway Park kicks off the season on Saturday, March 30, with a 4:00 p.m. event featuring the initial championship chase event of the year with all five of the track’s regular classes including IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and Thunder Cars on the 3/8-mile clay oval and wild and crazy Hornets on the inner asphalt oval.

Two weeks later, the track will be reconfigured to host the TORC Off Road Trucks on April 12-13.  Tickets for the TORC event are already on sale at http://torc.eventbrite.com/#.

With 18 nights of competition at Dodge City Raceway Park in 2013 scheduled over the course of 14 weekends, special events will include TORC Off Road Trucks, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, USAC Southwest Sprint Cars, $1,200-to-win Modified Nationals and URSS Sprint Cars.
