Revised Championship Points Scale for DCRP!

19 March 2013 | Featured News | |

jappel&bakerdcrp050512Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (March 19, 2013) – The chase for the Dodge City Raceway Park track championships begins in just 11 more days.  And, when it gets under way on Saturday March 30 at 4:00 p.m., a revised championship points scale will be in place.

The March 30 opener will include the track’s five championship classes of IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Thunder Cars and Hornets.  All but the Hornets compete on the well-manicured 3/8-mile clay oval while the Hornets battle it out on the inner asphalt oval.

The revised scale will reward those that compete on a more frequent basis will also placing an added premium on feature wins, top-fives and top-tens.

The revised scale, which begins at 150 points for a feature win then drops by five points to second, four more points to third, then three points per position through tenth and then two points per position through the balance of the feature field will replace the former system of 40, 39, 38, etc.

The new points scale will be used in determining Dodge City Raceway Park track championship points only and will have no effect on IMCA calculations for state, regional or national points.

The revised points scale is as follows:

1 – 150

2 – 145

3 – 141

4 – 138

5 – 135

6 – 132
