93.9 the BUZZARD welcomes Rock n’ Race Fest, Friday Night, July 24. It’s the official opening of Dodge City Days!
We are excited to say the least that we are going to be a bigger part of Dodge City Days. “Back in the early days of Dodge City Days we opened the DC Days at the old Speedway on Friday with a big street stock race. Now we get to do a Concert and Racing on Friday Night as well as the Saturday Race which will give DCRP a huge amount of publicity,” said Ed Beckley of DCRP.
Final negotiations are going on for two groups for Friday night. They are the loud and crazy JACKYL who NASCAR is making more famous playing their songs and now the new hot group Pop Evil is rocking the U.S. “We are pleased with how this whole package is coming along, and we think that race fans as well as rock fans are going to be happy with what we are bringing to open Dodge City Days at the Dodge City Raceway Park.” said Beckley.

why would you have this on a friday??
Thanks for the question here are our answers:
Reason #1.
DC DAYS usually has a concert on Friday night for the last 15 years or so. When that did not happen we were talking to the ROCK STATION 93.9 the Buzzard and they agreed we needed a ROCK CONCERT to shake up DC DAYS!
Reason #2.
That brings us to reason number two for a Friday event. We were able to secure the first two bands we wanted and that was POP EVIL and JACKYL. So it worked out great!
Reason #3.
The race track back in the DC SPEEDWAY days used to open up the DC DAYS CELEBRATION and we are part of the community that brings this event to Dodge and so NOW we have the Concert on Friday and the DC DAYS RACES on Saturday which brings us to Reasoon#4.
Reason #4.
The BUZZARD is where we do our rock n race report and they were all up for a Friday concert mainly it will be something that can go on that is NOT against another entertainment phase of DC Days. The BUZZARD is very much Dodge City and we are too so there you go!
Seeya!
