Saturday Practice Opens Busy April at DCRP!
Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (March 31, 2014) – An open practice session this Saturday evening kicks off a busy month of April at the state-of-the-art Dodge City Raceway Park in southwest Kansas.
Saturday’s open practice that runs from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will be the first of three consecutive Saturdays with action atop the 3/8-mile clay oval as well as the inner asphalt oval. Pit passes for Saturday’s open practice are just $10 with free admission to the grandstands.
The Dodge City Raceway Park season officially gets under way seven days later with round one of championship chase action on Saturday, April 12. The track’s regularly featured classes of IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, Stock Cars and Thunder Cars will battle it out on the 3/8-mile clay oval with Hornets on the inner asphalt oval.
Action continues the following Saturday, April 19, with a $750-to-win IMCA Great Plains Stock Car special with championship action continuing for the other four classes as well.
Tickets to the April 12 and April 19 events are just $10 each with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are $30 each night.
The month of April opens a blockbuster season of racing action at Dodge City Raceway Park that includes 15 nights of competition. Highlighting the schedule is the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars “Boothill Showdown” on July 4-5 along with a variety of special events for Sprint Cars, Late Models, Modifieds, Sport Modifieds and Stock Cars along the way.
