The Chase Continues Saturday at DCRP!

dcrpsprints061316Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (June 13, 2016) – Five championship titles are up for grabs at Dodge City Raceway Park. This Saturday night, drivers can move one step closer to a potential championship with a full slate of action atop the 3/8-mile DCRP clay oval.

Saturday’s tilt that goes green at 7:30 p.m. features the Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars along with IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Leading the way into the night are Taylor Velasquez, Nick Link, Kevin Tabor, Michael Pepper and Matt O’Hair.

Gunning for a third consecutive Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Car feature win, Turpin, Oklahoma’s Taylor Velasquez has stretched out his points lead to 23 points over defending track champion Luke Cranston with opening night winner Brian Herbert another three points back in third.

Rolla’s Nick Link carries a 44-point advantage over Ryan Heger in IMCA Modified points into Saturday’s action with William Nusser up to third, just another six points off the lead pace.

With 15 different winners in the 17 IMCA Sport Modified events dating back to last year at DCRP, Dodge City’s Kevin Tabor holds a 22-point edge over Brian May in this year’s title chase with three-time and reigning champ Jeff Kaup scratching his way back into contention at just 36 points out of the lead.

Batting .500 in the IMCA Stock Car ranks with three wins in six starts, Lakin’s Michael Pepper has a 49-point advantage over Marlin Hogie in his title defense while Laverne, Oklahoma’s Matt O’Hair is just 13 points ahead of defending champion Cody Davis in the IMCA Hobby Stock title chase.

Tickets to Saturday’s championship chase action at Dodge City Raceway Park are just $15 for adults with children eleven and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit passes are $30.
