Title Chases in High Gear with NCRA Sprint Cars Saturday at DCRP

tabor&lunow042515 980Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 29, 2015) – Things heat up Saturday night at Dodge City Raceway Park with all variety of championship implications on the line.

While the NCRA Sprint Cars headline the night’s action, DCRP championship chase action continues in IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Racing action goes green at 7:30 p.m.

Although Saturday’s tilt is the first NCRA card at Dodge City Raceway Park since C.J. Johnson topped last June’s Steve King Memorial, it’s not the first Sprint Car action atop the 3/8-mile clay oval this year.

A pair of Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Car events have developed an early theme of first-time DCRP winners with Ty Williams and Luke Cranston both posting their first career triumphs atop the Dodge City clay.

While it remains to be seen if a third first-time winner will be recognized in the Sprint Car ranks, this time NCRA, on Saturday night, four of the track’s championship chase divisions will battle it out as well.

Leading the way into Saturday’s action in the track’s championship chase divisions are Clay Sellard, Kevin Tabor, Michael Pepper and Matt O’Hair.

IMCA Modifieds:

After the April 11 season opening feature was pushed back to April 25, Clay Sellard swept to victory lane in both features with Austin Allen second in both main events. The defending champ, Allen raced from 24th to second in the latest feature.

Dodge City’s very own Kevin Tabor is atop a tightly-bunched points race as only six points separate the top five through two events with Jeremy Sigler and Jeff Kaup each posting early wins.

IMCA Stock Cars:

Pulling double duty as he also competes in the IMCA Sport Modified division for the first time, Michael Pepper is a perfect two-for-two in Stock Car action with a pair of dominant wins to open the season.

Matt O’Hair is out to an early lead after winning last time out to take a six-point lead over Cody Davis with Reagan Sellard anther two points back.

General admission tickets to Saturday’s action are just $20 for adults, with children 11 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Pit admission is $30.

The 2015 slate of events at Dodge City Raceway Park includes 15 nights of competition with a number of special events along the way, highlighted by the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Boothill Showdown on July 3-4.
