World of Outlaws Boot Hill Showdown Just One Month Away!

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (May 23, 2012) – As the days click away, the Boot Hill Showdown featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars keep getting closer. In fact, it’s only one month until the world’s best Sprint Car drivers take to Dodge City Raceway Park’s 3/8-mile clay oval.

The World of Outlaws will invade the southwest Kansas town noted for legendary shootouts and standoffs for two full nights of racing action on Friday and Saturday, June 22-23.

Advance tickets are available at http://dirtcar.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=62. Two-day reserved seat combos are available for just $65, with two-day general admission combos available for just $50. Single day tickets are available as well at $40 for reserved seats and $35 for general admission.

The championship points battle for the World of Outlaws has a couple of familiar faces atop the point charts through the opening one-third of the season, with “The King of the Outlaws”, Steve Kinser, holding a slim 18 point advantage over three-time champion Sammy Swindell.

Donny Schatz is currently a close third behind Kinser and Swindell, with others among the top ten including Joey Saldana, Craig Dollansky, Kraig Kinser, Chad Kemenah, Cody Darrah, Kerry Madsen and Lucas Wolfe.

Dollansky and Jason Sides claimed victories at last year’s Boot Hill Showdown atop the Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval.

IMCA Modifieds will be in action both nights as well, with Thunder Cars filling out the Friday card and IMCA Stock Cars rounding out Saturday’s action.

Dodge City Raceway Park presents 16 nights of racing over a dozen different weekends in 2012. In addition to the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, other special events include USAC Midgets, USAC Sprint Cars, ASCS National Tour, NCRA Sprint Cars, URSS 305 Sprints and BST Modifieds.

In addition to the special events, Dodge City Raceway Park will crown champions in the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, Thunder Cars and Hornets.
