DCRP Stock Car Shootout Set for May 4!

Lonnie Wheatley, DODGE CITY, Kan. (February 15, 2019) – An already action-packed 2019 schedule of events atop the 3/8-mile Dodge City Raceway Park clay oval in southwest is even better now with the addition of the Stock Car Shootout on Saturday night, May 4.

The Stock Car Shootout presented by Winner’s Circle Feedyards and Factory Direct Fireworks offers up a $1,000 winner’s share with $150 to start the feature event.

With a number of invaders from throughout expected to take on the local contingent, a draw-redraw format will be in effect for the evening.

The May 4 Stock Car Shootout will be rounded out by a full card Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

The 2018 IMCA Stock Car title chase at DCRP came down to the wire with Bazine’s Dusty Witthuhn edging Chris Oliver by just eight points for the crown with Marlin Hogie, Tyler Walker and Shannon Maughlin also among the final top five.

Seven different drivers reached DCRP victory lane in IMCA Stock Car action last season with Colorado’s Angel Munoz topping the charts by parking in on three occasions.  Witthuhn, Oliver and Troy Burkhart each posted two wins with single scores posted by Maughlin, Tyler Tipton and Landon Maddox.

Following the track’s car show and open practice on March 23, the IMCA Stock Car ranks will have three additional opportunities to get dialed in prior to the Stock Car Shootout with April events on the 6th, 13th and 27th.
